Quick Overview
- Earn Wyndham points at a rate of up to 20 points per $1 spent at Wyndham hotels, factoring in base points, elite status bonuses, and co-branded credit card points.
- Members receive 10 base points per $1 spent at all Wyndham properties.
- Elite status points vary by tier: Blue members earn no bonus, Gold adds 10%, Platinum adds 15%, and Diamond adds 20%—giving up to an additional 2 points per $1 spent.
- Using a Wyndham credit card to pay for your stay can add 8 extra points per $1 spent on top of base and elite status points.
- Base points and elite points post soon after your stay, while credit card points are added after the billing cycle.
Use our Wyndham Points Per Stay Calculator to calculate how many points you can earn on your next stay.
How Wyndham base points are calculated
You will earn 10 Wyndham Base Points per $1 spent on the base rate of the room at Wyndham brand hotels with a minimum 1,000 points per stay. This means hotels that cost you $100 or less will still give you a great return on your spend.

As an example, if your Wyndham Hotel stay costs you $200 before taxes/fees, you would earn a total of 2,000 Wyndham Rewards Points. If your stay costs $350 before taxes, you would earn 3,500 Wyndham Rewards Points.
If you had a cheap stay that cost you $100 or less, you would earn 1,000 Wyndham Points since it is the minimum you can earn on a stay.
How Wyndham elite points are calculated
As you progress through the Wyndham Rewards Membership levels, you'll be able to earn additional bonus points thanks to the accelerated earning benefit. Based on your level, this will give you up to 20% bonus points on top of the base points you earn as a member.
Level | Bonus | Points Earned |
---|---|---|
Blue Member | No Bonus | 0 |
Gold Member | 10% | 1 |
Platinum Member | 15% | 1.5 |
Diamond Member | 20% | 2 |
For example, if you were a Wyndham Rewards Diamond Member you would earn a 20% bonus on top of the 10 base points you would normally earn. This means you would earn an additional 2 points per $1 spent for a total of 12 points.
So a hotel that costs you $200 before taxes and fees would earn you a total of 2,400 Wyndham Rewards Points. That's 2,000 base points plus 400 bonus points from elite status.
How Wyndham credit card points are calculated
Using a Wyndham credit card to pay for your stay can earn you up to an additional 8 Wyndham Points per $1 spent. Unlike base points and elite status points, you'll earn Wyndham points on taxes and fees when paying with a Wyndham credit card.
Points earned with the card will post to your Wyndham Rewards account when the statement ends. They are not added to your account balance shortly after a stay like base points and elite status points.
Credit Card | Points Per $1 Spent |
---|---|
Wyndham Rewards Earner Visa Card | 5 |
Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Visa Card | 6 |
Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Visa Card | 8 |
Taxes aside, a $200 stay as a Wyndham Rewards Diamond Member using the Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Business Visa Card would earn you a total of 4,000 points. That's 2,000 base points, 400 elite status points from the 20% bonus, and 1,600 Wyndham credit card points.
