How are Chase Freedom Flex points calculated?
The Chase Freedom Flex earns Ultimate Rewards points that can be redeemed for cash back and more. It earns at the following rates:
- 5% cash back on different categories like gas stations, grocery stores (excluding Target® and Walmart®) and select online merchants on up to $1,500 in total combined purchases each quarter you activate.
- 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Travel.
- 3% cash back on dining at restaurants, including takeout and eligible delivery services.
- 3% cash back on drugstore purchases.
- 1% cash back on all other purchases.

Points earned with the Chase Freedom Flex Card cannot be transferred directly to other programs, but you can transfer your points to an eligible Ultimate Rewards credit card that allows you to transfer to Chase's airline and hotel partners.

This means that pairing the Chase Freedom Flex with any of these cards will allow you to redeem your points for more than the average value towards travel. You'll be able to easily get 1.25 cents or more per point!

Annual Fee
The Chase Freedom Flex has a $0 annual fee.
For a card that earns 5% back on solid quarterly categories, you can't go wrong picking this card up. As long as you pay your statement monthly, this is easy cash back.
Authorized User Fee
There is no fee to add authorized users to the Chase Freedom Flex. Adding family and friends can help you earn rewards faster.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The Chase Freedom Flex has a 3% foreign transaction fee. This means that you will be penalized everytime you use this card to make a transaction outside of the United States.

Currency Name
Add Status / Loyalty
You can add elite status to one or more columns. This allows you to calculate the extra points you would receive from having status with that program.
If the status is already added, you can update the currency the status is based on by specifying a different currency than what the one in the calculator already has.
NOTE: Elite status is automatically added to the calculator for most credit cards that grant it.
