Capital One miles credit cards

Capital One offers six credit cards that you can use to earn Venture miles and Spark miles transferable to Etihad Guest. These miles can be transferred to Etihad at a 1:1 rate meaning that every 1,000 Venture miles or Spark miles you convert will give you 1,000 Etihad Guest miles.

Capital One is most known for its straightforward and easy to use program. Miles are mostly earned at a flat-rate across all purchases which means you can place all of your spending pretty much on one card if you wish.

On top of that, miles can easily be redeemed at a value of 1 cent towards any kind of travel charged to a Capital One Venture Rewards or Spark Rewards credit card. This makes it extremely flexible as you'll be able to not only use miles for standard travel like flights and hotels, but you'll also be able to redeem them for parking, tolls, and other miscellaneous travel charges — redemptions that other popular programs offer low value on.

AMEX Membership Rewards credit cards

American Express Membership Rewards Points can be transferred to Etihad Guest at a 1:1 ratio meaning that every 1,000 AMEX Points you transfer to Etihad will give you 1,000 Etihad Guest miles.

American Express has a handful of premium credit cards that can earn you 3X to 5X points per $1 spent which is higher than most credit card rewards programs. On top of that, intro bonuses for AMEX can reach as high as 100,000 points which can net you a large sum of Etihad Guest miles.

Marriott Bonvoy credit cards

Marriott Bonvoy points earned with Marriott's lineup of credit cards can be transferred to Etihad Guest at a 3:1 rate. Every 3,000 points you convert will give you 1,000 Etihad Guest miles.

On top of that, every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer in a single transaction will give you a bonus 5,000 Etihad Guest miles. This means a 60,000-point transfer will give you 25,000 Etihad Guest miles which is not bad.

If you frequently stay at Marriott brand hotels, it can be worth it to pick up one of Marriott's credit cards for both the free night awards and easy transfers to Etihad Guest.

World of Hyatt credit cards

Hyatt offers 2 credit cards that can be used to earn points transferable to Etihad Guest at a 2.5:1 rate. Every 2,500 Hyatt points you convert will give you 1,000 Etihad Guest miles.

You'll also receive 5,000 bonus Etihad Guest miles for every 50,000-point block of Hyatt points you transfer.

The drawback to transferring Hyatt points to Etihad (and any other partner) is that Hyatt points can easily be redeemed for high value with little effort. So transferring them to airline partners has a change to devalue the points. You'll want to keep this in mind.

IHG One Rewards credit cards

IHG points can be transferred to Etihad Guest at a 5:1 rate meaning that 5,000 IHG points can be converted into 1,000 Etihad Guest miles. IHG offers three co-branded credit cards — 2 personal, 1 business — that can be used to earn IHG points on IHG stays and everyday spending.

If you frequent IHG properties, picking up one of their personal or business premier cards will easily earn you the equivalent of 2X Etihad Guest miles per $1 spent at their brand hotels which isn't too shabby — especially if you frequent their properties.

Hilton Honors credit cards

Hilton Honors offers 4 co-branded credit cards, all of which are top-notch options if you frequent Hilton properties. Points earned with these cards can be transferred to Etihad Guest miles at a 10:1 rate meaning that every 10,000 Hilton Honors points you convert will give you 1,000 Etihad Guest miles.

This doesn't sound like a good ratio, but it's easily possible to earn over 30 points per $1 spent at Hilton's properties if you have one of their premium credit cards thanks to the high earning multiplier and complimentary elite status. This equals out to being over 3X Etihad Guest miles on stays.

Calculator Options

Year 1 or Year 2+?

Year 1 - Calculate how much you will earn in your first year of being a cardmember. Includes Intro Bonuses (if toggled on) and will use the free or reduced first year annual fees for any cards that have them.

Year 2+ - Calculate how much the card will be worth the 2nd year and onward. Automatically turns off intro bonuses and will ignore first year free/reduced annual fees.

Include Intro Bonuses?

If set to yes, intro bonuses will be included for a card's calculation ONLY IF you have met the monthly spend criteria based on what's entered into the tool.

Note: We do not have intro bonuses for all credit cards (mainly partners and popular credit cards), and we cannot calculate intro bonuses for some cards due to the complexity of some spend requirements.

Authorized Users

Some banks charge an additional fee to add family, friends, or employees to the credit card account. If you plan on adding authorized users to your credit card(s), you can enter that amount here.

Note: Some credit cards have a cap on how many authorized users you can add. While we do keep track of the fee structures, we do not keep track of caps. So be sure to check the rates and fees before applying.

Calculate Foreign Transaction Fees?

Many cards will charge you a foreign transaction fee when making purchases in a foreign currency. This is typically between 2.5% and 3% for most credit cards.

If set to yes, we will calculate the estimated fee for any spend entered into the calculator that is considered foreign. This amount will appear in the calculations as well.

Note: We do not have the foreign transaction fee rates for all credit cards.
