Citi ThankYou Rewards is a credit card rewards program that earns flexible travel rewards transferable to a handful of airline and hotel partners — Qantas Frequent Flyer being one of them. Citi ThankYou points can be converted to Qantas points at a 1:1 rate meaning that every 1,000 Citi points you transfer will give you 1,000 Qantas points.

How to convert Citi points to Qantas points

1. Go to www.thankyou.com, click Sign On, and log into your ThankYou Rewards account.
2. Select an eligible Citi credit card (which will be the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card or Citi Prestige Card).
3. Click on Travel and under Transfer click on Points Transfer.
4. Find Qantas Frequent Flyer in the list of programs and click Continue
5. Input how many ThankYou points you wish to transfer to Qantas Frequent Flyer.
6. Input your Qantas Frequent Flyer account number and confirm it by typing it a second time.
7. Agree to the terms and conditions and click Continue.
8. Review the details of the transfer.
9. Confirm.

Best Citi cards for Qantas points

Points on the Citi Strata Premier Card and (now unavailable) Citi Prestige Card can be transferred directly to Qantas Frequent Flyer at a rate of 1:1. This means every 1,000 points you convert will give you 1,000 Qantas points.

All other Citi Rewards credit cards do not have the ability to transfer points directly to Qantas Frequent Flyer, but you can transfer those points to an eligible Citi Rewards credit card and then transfer them to Citi's partners. For example, you can earn points with the Citi Custom Cash Card, transfer those points to the Citi Strata Premier Card, and then convert them to Qantas points.
