The Southwest Plus Card earns Southwest points at the following rates:

  • 2 points per dollar spent on Southwest purchases.
  • 2 points per dollar spent on Rapid Rewards hotel and car rental partners.
  • 2 points per dollar spent on local transit and commuting, including rideshare.
  • 2 points per dollar spent on internet, cable, phone services, and select streaming.
  • 1 point per dollar spent on everything else.

Annual Fee

The Southwest Plus Card has an annual fee of $69.

This is the lowest fee of all the Southwest cards. You'll get more than half of this fee back in the form of anniversary points — the rest you should be able to make up with the EarlyBird Check-In and other benefits.

Authorized User Fee

There is no fee to add additional users to the Southwest Plus Card. Adding family and friends will help build Southwest points faster.

Foreign Transaction Fee

The Southwest Plus Card has a foreign transaction fee of 3%. That makes this card a bad choice for spending outside of the United States.
