Earning Rewards
The CIBC Dividend Visa Platinum Card earns cash back at the following rates:
- 3% cash back on eligible gas, electric vehicle charging, and groceries.
- 2% cash back on transportation, dining and recurring payments.
- 1% cash back on everything else.
All bonus categories (3% and 2%) are capped at $80,000 in net annual purchases across all cardholders or $20,000 across each specific category, whichever comes first. Once that cap is hit, all card purchases will earn at the normal rate of 1% cash back.

Annual Fee
The CIBC Dividend Visa Platinum Card has an annual fee of $99. The first year is usually rebated.
Authorized User Fee
Adding authorized users to the CIBC Dividend Visa Platinum Card will cost you $30 each for up to 3 additional cards. The first year is usually rebated.
Foreign Transaction Fee
The CIBC Dividend Visa Platinum Card has a foreign currency conversion fee of 2.5%. This means you will be penalized when using this card to make purchases that are not in Canadian Dollars.

You can add elite status to one or more columns. This allows you to calculate the extra points you would receive from having status with that program.
If the status is already added, you can update the currency the status is based on by specifying a different currency than what the one in the calculator already has.
NOTE: Elite status is automatically added to the calculator for most credit cards that grant it.
